What to wear in your First Trimester

What to wear in your First Trimester

First off congrats! The first trimester (and let's be honest all of pregnancy) is such an exciting time as you find out you are pregnant, start to feel the effects of pregnancy, and decide on your care.

On the flip side, you may not wish to tell family, friends, or co-workers just yet. So finding pieces of clothing to conceal your bump that don't seem super maternity but is, will be helpful as your bump grows.

Empire Waists

Tops and dresses with an empire waist will fit and flatter throughout your pregnancy. These items will have a fit and flare style. So fitted around the breasts and then a flare or flounce out. Something like our Autumn Maternity Top is a perfect example of an empire waist.

Loose Fitting Tops

Right, this is kind of a given. I know. It's still important to highlight cause some maternity pieces are designed as loose fitting so they work through multiple portions of your pregnancy. Right now I'm digging the Maeve Maternity Sweater as a great example of this.

Belly Bands

These are absolutely genius pieces of fabric. These are designed to help you wear your regular old non-maternity pants just a wee bit longer in the early stages of pregnancy. Then you can use them as an extra layer over the bump when you are closer to your due date. The Bellaband from Ingrid and Isabel is my personal favorite.
There are so many great options out there to not only support you during the first trimester, but also throughout your entire pregnancy. So stop in the boutique or shop online.
